Eastleigh
Strategic Partnership
Introduction
Legislation requires all District
Councils, including Eastleigh Borough Council, to establish a
"Local Strategic Partnership" that is responsible
for developing a Community Plan for the local area. This
led to the Eastleigh Strategic Partnership
(ESP) being formed in April 2003. Bringing
together the main public, private and voluntary sector
organisations who provide services to the Borough's
residents, the Partnership published
its Community Plan in June 2004. Through the
process of developing and implementing the Plan, the intention is
that the organisations in the Partnership will work more
closely together to make best use of their resources and maximise
the benefits to the Borough's communities.
The
core members of the ESP are:
- Eastleigh Borough Council
- OneCommunity (formerly Eastleigh Community Services)
- Hampshire Primary Care Trust
- Hampshire County Council
- Hampshire Constabulary
- Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service
However, the membership is
much wider than this, and other organisations will join the
Partnership's meetings depending on the topics being
discussed. In this way we keep the bureaucratic burden on smaller
organisations and voluntary organisations to a minimum.
The Community Plan
The members of the ESP
have developed a Community Plan for
Eastleigh which sets out a
long-term vision for the Borough's future development, along
with a set of shorter-term aims and actions that the
Partnership has agreed to undertake in
pursuit of this vision.
