The Eastleigh Community Plan
Developed by the Eastleigh
Strategic Partnership (ESP), the Community Plan for the Borough of
Eastleigh is made up of a number of elements:
- A set of underpinning principles
- A long-term vision for the Borough
- 8 themes which, in consultation with residents, were identified as important priorities for the Borough. In July 2006 they were renamed with titles that focused on desired outcomes rather than activities:
- A Confident, Safe Community (formerly Community Safety)
- A Prosperous Community (formerly Employment)
- A Green Community (formerly Environment)
- A Healthy Community (formerly Health & Well-being)
- Housing the Community (formerly Housing)
- An Active Community (formerly Leisure)
- A Learning Community (formerly Lifelong Learning)
- A Connected Community (formerly Transport)
- A set of theme-based aims and associated short-term actions, which along with the above, are detailed in the published community plan (see below).
The Published Community Plan
In June 2004, the ESP published
the Community Plan, which brings together the
ESP's main principles, the vision for the Borough,
and the set of aims and actions agreed by the Partnership's
members. The Community Plan can be accessed using the
