1.         ESP Executive Group Meeting
 
To be held from 2.00pm to 4.30pm on 1st July 2005 at Eastleigh Borough Council's Civic Offices in Leigh Road.  The current members of the Executive are:

1.         Community Plan Theme Updates
 
ESP Theme Leaders were requested to provide a short update containing the following information:
 
  • Progress made in the last quarter (i.e. since 31st March 2005, when the last updates were submitted) with the theme-related actions being taken forward first;
  • Plans for making progress on the theme-related actions in the next quarter;
  • Emerging issues, challenges etc. that the Executive or Wider Steering Group should be aware of, particularly if they could assist with their resolution.
 
So far, the attached updates have been received from Theme Leaders:
 
 
2          South East Plan Update
 
The May edition of the South East Plan Update is attached.  Issued by the South East Regional Assembly, it contains a revised timetable that has been agreed for preparing the remaining detailed sub-regional information for the South East Regional Plan, including district level housing allocations.
 
 
3          HIOW - Local Strategic Partnership Capacity Building Bulletin
 
The May edition of the LSP Capacity Bulletin is attached.  Published by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Government Authority, it provides information on the capacity-building project for Hampshire LSPs, which is funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM).
 
 

4          LSP Works: The Newsletter for the LSPs in the South East

 
The May-June issue of LSP Works is attached.  Prepared by the Government Office of the South East, it provides news and information for members of Local Strategic Partnerships in the South East:
 
 
5          GovernmentConsultation on Smoke-free Workplaces
 
On 20th June 2005, the Government launched a consultation on the process of drawing up the detailed aspects of the legislation on smoke-free workplaces, which will continue until 5th September 2005.  Further details on the consultation and how to participate in it are provided in the attached letter:
 
 
 

Advance Notice

 
1          Presentation on Outcomes-based Approach to Partnership Working
 
To be held on the morning of 7 November at Winchester Guildhall (exact timings to be confirmed).  All ESP members are invited to an interactive presentation by Mark Friedman, Director of the Fiscal Policy Studies Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, who is an expert in the outcomes-based approach to partnerships.
 
Mark will explain how focusing on outcomes can improve collaboration and offer opportunities to deliver change much more quickly.  The presentation will illustrate different approaches and tools for achieving this, and has been organised by the Winchester, Basingstoke and Test Valley Local Strategic Partnerships.  Further information is given in the attached letter, although more specific details will be provided closer to the event.
