Community Event to Launch the New Community
Plan
A community event was held at the Hilldene
Community Centre in West End to launch the new Community
Plan for the Borough of Eastleigh. This
half-day event focussed on:
- What activities of local partnerships and
organisations linked to the ESP will help implement the
Community Plan and:
- What others could do to help.
The event included a range of presentations and workshops
covering many of the different aspects of the borough
that were addressed by the plan. Some of the
presentations given can be downloaded here (more will be added
later):

Our Borough, Our Future:
Core Strategy and Community Plan Consultation
A joint consultation was held from November
2008 to January 2009 to assist in the updating of
the ESP's Community Plan for the Borough and to help shape
Eastleigh Borough Council's Core Strategy, which will provide
the framework for the borough's planning policies for the next 20
years.
The consultation focussed on a joint consultation document
- Our Borough, Our Future - and an associated
questionnaire, which was available online and was also circulated
separately via Eastleigh Borough Council's newspaper, the
Borough News. The revised Community Plan is due to
be published in September 2009.

Eastleigh Borough - The Next 20 Years:
Core Strategy and Community Plan Stakeholders'
Workshop
On 22 May 2008
around sixty invited delegates from a wide
range of organisations working in the Borough attended a
half-day workshop at the Eastleigh Railway Insititute. The
purpose of the workshop was to help provide input for the
development of a joint Core Strategy / Community Plan
Consultation Document, which was publicly circulated in September
2008 at the start of a 6 week consultation
period.
Each workshop participant was provided
with:
The Discussion Paper represents a summary
version of a larger and more detailed document - the
Evidence Base (6Mb:
a large file) - which was created by the Borough Council to
produce the Discussion Paper.
The
feedback produced by participants during the
workshop was collated into a set of
notes, which was later
circulated to all the workshop's participants.
